Farmers’ Markets Program Manager

Beautiful Day is a granola company with a mission to help refugees connect to their community through business, job training, and community education.

As a 10-year-old social venture, we have integrated adult and youth training programs and broad community education initiatives into the daily production and business activities of a gourmet granola and food company. We’re rooted locally in our state, with our kitchen, fulfillment center, and offices located in Providence. We have an active, adventurous board of directors, and a diverse team of 8 full-time and 10 part-time staff, plus contractors and interns. We run an e-commerce store, ship products across the country, participate in area farmers’ markets and events, demo at and deliver to local grocery stores. Most of our production team are former trainees who graduated from our program. For more information about our mission, vision, and products, visit our website at www.beautifuldayri.org.

This year we are expanding the job training we offer by increasing our presence at local farmers’ markets. Learning to run a booth at a farmers’ market provides highly competent refugees with a practical set of confidence-building skills that can lead to better jobs. Markets also give our community a way to meet refugees face-to-face while we support our mission through sales. We are seeking a Farmers’ Markets Program Manager to oversee this expansion. This would be a great position for someone who loves teaching, loves farmers’ markets, and has a vision for equipping refugees with job skills and social capital.

  • Collaborate with our larger management, training, and marketing teams to chart a coherent strategy for local sales that aligns with our mission priorities.
  • Maintain records related to trainees’ performance in BD’s database (Salesforce)
  • Support volunteers to participate at markets and mentor refugees.

  • An interest and appreciation for farmers’ markets as a place to engage with and contribute to our community.
  • Versatile communication skills. Able to authentically pitch a vision to customers, connect meaningfully with English-language learners, ask questions, take interest, listen.
  • Experience teaching, training, or coaching a variety of ages/backgrounds, ideally with limited-English speakers.
  • Organized, able to multitask, prioritize, and manage moving parts.
